Reasons to love the ukulele

The ukulele has become increasingly popular in recent years, and it’s not difficult to see why. With its handy, compact size, and bright, attractive sound, it’s a winner with children and adults alike. There are many reasons to love the ukulele, but here are my top five:
It’s a very portable instrument. The ukulele’s small size and light build make it very easy to carry around, meaning players can attend ukulele groups and lessons without feeling encumbered by their instrument. This brings us to reason number two…
It’s a great instrument for young children. Because of its small size and portability, the ukulele is an ideal first instrument for young children. Even very young children can hold a ukulele, make chord shapes, and strum the strings.
It’s versatile. The ukulele enables players to play both melody and harmony, opening up endless possibilities when it comes to choosing which music to play. Music in a range of different genres can be played on the ukulele.
It’s affordable. Ukuleles are available at a range of different price points, so a low budget is not a problem.
It enables players to make music with others. Not only is the ukulele a great solo instrument, but it is also a wonderful ensemble instrument. Playing in a group with fellow ukulele lovers is great fun!
